The essentials

  • Local speech recognition processes audio on your computer. Voice following can save recognised words as text and script-word timings.
  • Always wake-word listening can run while stopped or off air. Turning voice commands off does not turn off other microphone features.
  • Optional scratch audio records the microphone for synchronisation, including off-script passages. It can be included in an edit pack.
  • Deepgram sends audio to an online service when you choose it. Its data handling differs from local recognition; read the privacy notice first.
  • The phone remote, local API and Stream Deck connection are optional. Protect their keys and review what an AI assistant can access.
  • Sightline does not record video. Keep using your production recording tool, and check timings and measurements before relying on them.

The software’s MIT licence remains unchanged. These policies do not add restrictions to its permission to use, modify or share it. Applicable rights in other countries remain protected; the ICO is the UK regulator, rather than a worldwide authority.
