Accessibility of Sightline

Effective: 29 October 2026.

We want Sightline Prompter and its Stream Deck plugin to be useful to people with different ways of seeing, reading, speaking and controlling a computer. This statement covers the desktop app, its built-in help and the plugin’s controls and help. It does not assess Elgato’s software, payment pages or the whole of joannelockwood.co.uk.

Options available in the app

You can adjust script text size, heading size and fonts separately, choose Atkinson Hyperlegible or OpenDyslexic, change line spacing and margins, and choose different colour themes. A font that helps one person may not help another; try the options with a short script.

You can choose steady scrolling or voice following, adjust speed, pause, move between sections, and use keyboard shortcuts, a control window, supported controllers or the phone remote. Voice following is optional. It needs microphone access and may work differently with different speech, accents, microphones and background noise. Keyboard or button controls are alternatives when speech recognition does not suit you.

Mirroring, transparency and the reading marker are adjustable. Raising background opacity can improve readability. Notes mode shows material a page at a time instead of continuously scrolling it.

Flash, sound and movement

The optional slate can show a bright full-window flash and play a beep. Set Settings > Scrolling > Slate to Off if either is unsuitable; the flash-only option still flashes. Do not enable a slate merely because a sample script or recording workflow suggests one.

Continuous scrolling can be paused or replaced with notes pages. Voice listening indicators, toasts, meters and changing control states may also draw attention. We have not established that the application automatically follows every operating-system reduced-motion or accessibility preference.

What has not been established

We have not completed a formal accessibility audit or established WCAG 2.2 AA conformance. Colour themes, fonts and keyboard shortcuts alone do not establish conformance. Screen-reader use, focus order and visibility, dialog behaviour, zoom and reflow, contrast, status announcements and operation without a mouse need structured testing across supported systems.

Stream Deck hardware relies partly on visual key and dial feedback. The plugin’s accessibility also depends on its hardware and Elgato’s software. We have not established that every plugin action and state is accessible with assistive technology.

Tell us about a barrier

Email [email protected] or use the issue tracker. Tell us which task was difficult, your app version and operating system, and any assistive technology involved. A redacted screenshot or short example can help, but you do not need to disclose a disability or medical history. Please use email for private information.

We will consider reports when prioritising improvements and discuss an alternative way to complete the task where possible. We do not yet have a guaranteed response or fix time. This statement should be reviewed after accessibility testing and whenever a material control or layout changes.
