Joanne’s tip jar

Effective: 29 October 2026.

If one of my free tools has helped you, you can leave a voluntary tip. It supports my time creating and maintaining open-source work, including Sightline Prompter and its Stream Deck plugin. You are welcome to use them without tipping.

I drink black decaf and love a blueberry muffin. If you fancy stretching to a Caesar salad, even better. Those are friendly ways to describe a thank-you, rather than items you are buying or a promise about how each payment will be spent.

What a tip means

A tip is freely given. You receive no goods or services, licence upgrade, priority support, advertising, membership or promised feature in return. It is not an investment or a purchase of future development. Unless we separately agree otherwise before payment, it supports Joanne’s work generally rather than being restricted to a particular product.

This is a personal support request for Joanne’s work, not an appeal on behalf of a registered charity. We do not offer Gift Aid or promise a tax deduction. Calling a payment a tip or donation does not by itself determine its tax treatment.

The payment recipient is SEE Change Happen Ltd, based in England, United Kingdom. “Joanne’s tip jar” is the name of this support request.

Ways to give

Use Stripe or Ko-fi. Check the amount, currency, recipient and whether the payment is one-off or recurring before confirming. Available options and payment methods are shown at checkout. Provider fees may reduce the amount received.

You do not enter payment-card details into Sightline. Stripe or the other payment service offered at checkout handles them. Its terms and privacy notice apply alongside our privacy notice.

Privacy and acknowledgements

The payment provider may share your name, email, message, amount and transaction reference with the recipient for administration. Giving a tip does not subscribe you to marketing. A receipt or a personal thank-you may be sent in connection with your support.

Check Ko-fi’s public-supporter and message visibility choices before posting. We will not create a separate public supporter acknowledgement using your details without asking first. Do not put confidential information in a payment message.

If something goes wrong

For an accidental or duplicate tip, email [email protected] with the date, amount and transaction reference. Do not send a full card number, security code or account password. We will review the payment and explain the available options; we make no blanket promise that every voluntary payment can be refunded.

For a payment you did not authorise, contact your payment provider promptly as well. Any refund we arrange will use the original payment route where possible. Nothing here limits your statutory or payment-provider rights.

These policies cover Sightline and its Stream Deck plugin. Read the maintained source on GitHub.
